HTV Sports Film is the ORIGINAL Heat Transfer Vinyl & our #1 seller for 25+ years. Now conveniently sized in 9″ x 12″ sheets and intended for use with craft cutters like the Cricut Maker & Silhouette Cameo. Slightly thicker than HTV Flex Film Sheets at 7-Mils (compared to 4-Mils), this product is a laminate of polyurethane (PU) and polyester Hot-Melt Adhesive specifically designed for use with textiles. Choose from 24 amazing colors! HTV Sports Film is also available by the yard (18″ x 36″) for those wanting to purchase in bulk quantities.

Product Details

Sports Film (formerly Kwik Cut Sports Film) is our registered name for Heat Transfer Vinyl, which is commonly referred to as HTV, Iron-On Vinyl, Heat Press Vinyl or Crafters Vinyl. Thicker than most HTVs in the marketplace, we believe it is the best choice for full-contact sports like football, hockey or rugby. It can be washed and dried 50+ times -- even dry-cleaned. Our proprietary Adhesive resists dye migration and abrasion. Add a textured appearance with embossing paper to simulate the look of Leather (Pebble Grain) or Tackle Twill (Twill Grain) fabric. NOTE: Texturing is a two-step process. Embossing paper sold separately.

Designed with crafters in mind, HTV Sports Film Sheets can be cut using any laser cutter, plotter cutter, or desktop (craft) cutter like the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Maker. Here are recommended settings for some popular machines:

NOTE: Prior to cutting the HTV Sports Film, you must flip your design so that it's mirrored in your cutting machine.

Application Info

Preheat your garment for 5 seconds. Place the HTV Sports Film design on the garment, then place a cover sheet over the transfer.

Time: 10 seconds
Temperature: 320°F
Pressure: Light to Medium
Peel: Warm or Cold

HINT: Run a lint roller over the transfer area (on the garment) to remove any loose threads or stray fibers. Preheat your garment for 5 seconds. Place the transfer onto the garment, then place a cover sheet over the design. Time, temperature and pressure may vary if using an iron instead of a heat press machine.

Can Sports Film Sheets Be Layered?

We recommend Flex Film for layering as it's a thinner HTV Vinyl (4-Mils). However, if you're partial to HTV Sports Film (7-Mils), you can put 2 or 3 layers on top of each other for multicolor designs. It can also be layered on top of [guided-journey button_text="Sports Twill"] or [guided-journey type='felt' button_text="Sports Felt"] and Fashion Fabrics. NOTE: Cannot be layered on top of [guided-journey type='metallic' button_text="Metallic Twill"] as the Hot-Melt Adhesive does not adhere to the metallized yarns.

How Long Does It Last On Garments?

Our HTV Sports Film is very durable. We have tested this material up to 100 wash & dry cycles without fraying, cracking, fading or peeling.

Is HTV Sports Film 100% Free of PVCs?

Our HTV Sports Film is 100% free of Polyvinyl Chloride (“PVC”). PVC contains dangerous chemical additives that can be harmful to a child’s health.

Do I Cut Shiny-side Up Or Shiny-side Down?

You must mirror image the design before cutting. Load your HTV Sports Film Sheet in your cutting machine with the shiny-side facedown.

Should I Use A Cover Sheet When Heat Pressing?

You should always cover your HTV Sports Film designs with a brown kraft sheet, parchment paper or Teflon sheet to protect the material, the heat press machine and your garment. You can purchase those Heat Press Accessories here.

Can I Cut HTV Sports Film Sheets On A Desktop Plotter?

HTV Sports Film Sheets can be cut using any desktop (craft) cutter like Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Maker. Additionally, ALL forms of cutting work -- laser, plotter, flat-bed plotter, die cutting and shearing. Recommended settings are listed in the "Cut Settings" section above.
