Sports Twill — also known as Tackle Twill and Poly Twill — is our registered name for the fabric lettering and numbers used to decorate athletic apparel. Originally used for football, it is a very tough, durable material now used on all sports jerseys and cheerleading uniforms. Our Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (“PSA”) version of it features a low-tack backing for placement onto garments. (View Color Chart)

Is PSA Sports Twill 100% PVC-Free?
Yes. PSA Sports Twill is 100% free of Polyvinyl Chloride (“PVC”). PVC contains dangerous chemical additives that can be harmful to your child’s health.
Can I Cut PSA Sports Twill On A Tabletop Plotter?
Tabletop plotters aren’t 51″ wide, so the material will need to be cut down first. However, once properly sized, the fabric cuts clean on all desktop cutters including Cricut and Silhouette Cameo. All forms of cutting work on the PSA Sports Twill — laser, plotter, flat-bed plotter, die cutting and shearing.
What Blade Should I Use To Cut PSA Sports Twill?
A 60° blade works best for cutting PSA Sports Twill. On some machines it’s called the “thick” blade. Machines vary, but 150 grams of downforce is usually sufficient to get a clean cut.
How Long Does PSA Sports Twill Last On Garments?
We have tested this material up to 50 wash and dry cycles in a home laundry environment without fraying, cracking or peeling. PSA Sports Twill is sewn down onto garments, so it should last as long as the garment itself.
Does PSA Sports Twill Feature An Adhesive Backing?
Does The PS960 51″ PSA Adhesive Gum Up Sewing Needles?
Our proprietary adhesives feature a needle glide additive designed to sew without gumming. Sharp needles work better than ballpoint needles. HINT: Coating the needle with silicone also helps to promote a clean stitch. All manners of stitching work well, including zig zag, satin, bean, and lockstitch.
Can I Use 51″ PSA Sports Twill To Embroider Custom Patches?
Yes. The polyester-based PSA Sports Twill works perfectly for embroidering patches.
