Sublimation
Sublimation

Sublimation on tackle twill fabric is the #1 method for achieving multi-color designs with only 1 layer of material to sew. Reduces production time, labor costs, and is much lighter on the garment than traditional multi-layer applique. You can Request a Quote and upload artwork or Call to speak with a sales rep.
What is Tackle Twill?
Our Tackle twill fabric is 100% polyester twill material commonly used in sports and custom apparel. We apply our patented heat press adhesive to the back of the twill fabric, creating applique material which can then be cut into letters, numbers or logos. The cut pieces can be heat pressed or sewn on to the garment, depending on the chosen adhesive.
What is Sublimation?
Sublimation is a heat transfer process that uses heat to transfer dye onto fabric. During sublimation, solid dye particles are turned into gas without passing through a liquid phase. These gas particles bond with the fibers of the poly twill material, allowing for full-color, high-resolution designs that become part of the fabric itself rather than sitting on top of it. This process results in prints that are vibrant, resistant to fading, and soft to the touch.
The Sublimated Tackle Twill Process
A design is created using digital software. This could include team logos, names, numbers, or other custom graphics. The design is printed onto a special transfer paper in reverse (mirror) using sublimation inks. Using a heat press or a wide format laminator, we transfer the design from the paper to the twill. During this stage, the sublimated ink transfers onto the fabric, creating vivid, detailed graphics. The twill fabric is cut into the desired shape for the appliqué, using a laser cutter. The sublimated poly twill pieces are then heat pressed or sewn to the garment by you. Because the dye is embedded in the fabric, the colors won't peel or fade over time, even after repeated washing
