Twill USA carries 2 types of reflective material. Be sure to choose the product that is best for your project by following the guideline below.

What Is Reflective HTV?

Reflective Heat Transfer Vinyl uses prism technology to achieve retro-reflectivity. Prisms are more efficient than glass beads, so the reflected light is brighter. This material is somewhat thinner and more flexible than fabric. HTV Silver Reflective is a vinyl material supplied on a mylar carrier. You cut this material on your vinyl cutter in reverse, or mirror, image. Then weed away the excess and use the sticky carrier to place the design on the garment. NOTE: Reflective HTV Vinyl should be heat-pressed, not sewn onto garments.

What is Reflective Fabric?

Reflective Fabric utilizes coated glass beads to reflect incoming light back toward its source. It is encapsulated onto a Poly-Cotton blended fabric (65% Polyester, 35% Cotton) and laminated with our Permanent P600 5-Mil Adhesive. The 3M reflective fabric is a durable fabric with a heavy hand, both washable and dryable. 3M Silver Applique material is intended for applique projects and can be either sewn or heat pressed to the garment. The best way to cut this material is with a laser, but you should be able to cut it on any equipment designed for applique fabric. It has permanent adhesive on the back, so can be heat pressed or sewn, according to your preference. 3M Reflective fabric does NOT come on a carrier, and is cut in direct, or face-up, image. 

Application Instructions

HTV Flex Film is the perfect material for athletes! Compared to HTV Sports Film, Flex Film is a thinner, more elastic material that's great for beginner crafters! In fact, its elasticity has been measured as DOUBLE the stretchability of HTV Sports Film. It's also wider than Sports Film by 2 inches (18" vs 20"), which results in 72 square inches of extra material per yard. Flex Film features our proprietary adhesive, which has been tested at 50+ wash and dry cycles. Specifically designed for use with textiles, and commonly referred to as Flexible HTV, Iron-On Vinyl and Crafters Vinyl. Sold by the yard in rolls up to 50 yards per color.  Please contact customer service if you need this material in additional colors. 

Note: Application instructions for applying to Nylon differ from those for cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends or acrylics.

Create fun, raised designs with Twill USA Puff Heat Transfer Vinyl! Available in white, black, navy, red and pink matte product & silver & gold metallic product. Remember that puff works best with easy designs featuring large voids because the puffing will close small holes and lines that are close together. Ask your sales rep if there any additional colors you would like to see in our NEW Puff HTV! 

Tip: Metallic Puff has different heat press instructions than the matte colors. Please see below for detailed application instructions.

Transfer Tapes - Heat transfer tapes are used to preserve spacing in designs while moving from your cutter to the heat press. Green tape has a higher tack for use with multiple layer twill or fabric designs. White heat mask is for single layer designs or vinyl transfers. Release Papers - Add texture to your HTV designs for an upgraded look. Use in the same manner as Brown Kraft or Teflon cover sheets. Options include Pebble Grain, Twill Grain, as well as Brown Kraft sheets and White Gloss sheets. Pebble Grain imitates the appearance and texture of leather, similar to a basketball or football. Twill Grain imitates appearance and texture of Tackle Twill fabric.
