Perfect for crafting letters, numbers, and logos on athletic apparel, Tackle Twill delivers a professional look—but it can be tricky to handle without the right backing. Our 51" Polyback Sports Twill comes pre-coated with a thermal adhesive (P600 1.5-Mil backing) that stabilizes the fabric by locking in the twill fibers, making it easier to cut and position during application.  This polyester-based adhesive is PVC-free and works smoothly with a wide range of cutting tools—including plotters, laser cutters, die presses, and even scissors. While the adhesive allows for temporary placement with a heat press, the twill must be stitched down to ensure long-term durability and prevent fraying.  We stock Sports Twill with multiple adhesive options, including PSA Twill, Permanent, and PSA Permanent. Our “Polyback” option refers to a lightweight, low-tack adhesive backing—also known in the industry as “Heat Seal” or “Poly Twill”—and is a direct competitor to Stahls’ CAD-CUT® Poly-TWILL.  Available by the yard (51" x 36"). Designed for precision and ease of use, our 51" PSA Sports Twill features a clear Mylar carrier and a proprietary low-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive (PS960 PSA) that holds appliqué pieces firmly in place for sewing. The peel-and-stick backing allows clean positioning and easy realignment, making it ideal for intricate embroidery work and layered designs.  What sets our PSA adhesive apart is its U.S.-patented formula, which includes a needle glide additive to prevent needle gumming and thread breakage—ensuring smooth, hassle-free stitching. This material is excellent for two-layer applications and Kiss Cutting techniques.  Please note: Although the adhesive backing provides temporary hold, all PSA Sports Twill must be sewn for permanent application and to withstand repeated wash cycles without fraying.  This is our most popular adhesive-backed option, outselling others such as Polyback, Permanent, and PSA Permanent. "PSA Sports Twill" is our trademarked name for twill with a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive, often known as "Sticky Back" or "peel-and-stick." Sports Felt is a type of textile fabric made from non-woven Acrylic. This material is very strong and durable, which makes it a favorite for activewear applications including retro-style logos + numbers for throwback jerseys, crafting, and appliques. Very popular on sweatshirts and beanies. But without a coating of Heat Press Adhesive, it can be difficult and flimsy to use. For this reason, we offer adhesive-backed versions which include stabilizers so that it's easier to cut and handle. Our adhesive-backed versions are called Polyback Sports Felt, PSA Sports Felt, and PSA Permanent Sports Felt.  Permanent felt (No PSA) is available in limited quantities and colors. On-demand lamination can be ordered through customer service. Minimum order for Lamination & Conversion Service is 50 yards per color.
